Mission

The mission of the Civil War Round Table of Eastern Pennsylvania, Inc. is twofold; first, to serve the broad community’s educational needs concerning the American Civil War by providing a medium for exploring research, knowledge, and an understanding of its causes and effects, engagements, personages, units, armaments, and all other matters pertaining thereto through arranging presentations by historians, authors, musicians,artists, etc.; field trips to battlefields,and the exchange of books, papers, letters, diaries,and other data. Program releases are sent to schools, colleges, news media, etc. to apprise the public of these learning opportunities. Second, to preserve America’s historical treasures of the Civil War – its battlefields, landmarks, relics, collections, and cemeteries – through fundraising activities and volunteer work at battlefields.
