Gettysburg Foundation Offers Free Admission to Veterans on Veterans Day

Gettysburg, Pa. (Oct. 27, 2026) — Gettysburg Foundation invites U.S. military veterans to visit the Gettysburg National Military Park Museum & Visitor Center on Veterans Day, Wednesday, Nov. 11, 2026, for free admission to the Film, Cyclorama & Museum Experience. The annual Veterans Appreciation Day offer recognizes veterans’ service and provides an opportunity to explore Gettysburg’s history and lasting significance.
Veterans should present proof of military service to receive free admission and are encouraged to arrive early. The final Film, Cyclorama & Museum Experience begins at 4:15 p.m.
The experience begins with A New Birth of Freedom, a film exploring the Battle of Gettysburg and its significance, followed by the dramatic light-and-sound presentation of the Gettysburg Cyclorama, depicting Pickett’s Charge. Visitors can then explore the 12-gallery Gettysburg Museum of the American Civil War, where artifacts and interpretive exhibits illuminate the experiences of Civil War soldiers and the significance of the conflict.
Veterans and their families and guests are welcome to visit the National Park Service Information Desk for park information and maps of Gettysburg National Military Park and Eisenhower National Historic Site. The Friends of Gettysburg Desk inside the Museum & Visitor Center offers information about membership and volunteer opportunities and Gettysburg Foundation’s work in support of preservation and education in partnership with the National Park Service.

Active-duty U.S. military service members also receive free admission to the Film, Cyclorama & Museum Experience throughout the year.
